Bluefin Report 8/3
 

Arrived at the Atlantic Princess area at 6:30am and started trolling amidst lots of tuna chicks and marks on the screen but could not get any bites. Decided to anchor and try jigging and bait fishing with sardines which was uneventful as well. Got up on the troll again and got a bite on a purple spreader bar that yeided an under 34" Bluefin. The area was attracting more and more boats and started to get crowded so decided to get away from the crowd. Trolled to another area 3 miles away where I had also seen a gathering of tuna chicks. Upon arrival the bridge rod with a green machine on a bird WWB went off and after a 15 minute fight a 47" over Bluefin was on the deck. A frustrating but lucky day for us. We had 2 bites and got our over and under which doesn't happen very often.
