Cool.
Does anyone know if surface speeds faster/slower than deeper water speeds? I assume this website doesn't factor in wind speeds? |

It does not factor in wind speeds.... If you notice, the red colored areas of the map are were the waters run the swiftest...I would imagine the reason for this is it's where the water is restricted by depth or by land. I would also imagine unless the wind is really honking, it does not have that much of an influence on the current because the volume of water moving in or out is massive.
Trick here is to look at the current directions and try and match those areas where the wind direction is the same or as close to the same as possible so you have the wind and tide running in the same direction. |
