Lots of free bait coming.
Grab some of those ugly red eyed cicadas and head out to the ponds and streams. Catfish really love them, but bass and pickerel love to pick them off the surface.

Re: Lots of free bait coming.
I still haven't seen any of the red eyed freaks yet. Will go with the plastic worms for now. lol

Re: Lots of free bait coming.
i dug up a couple cicada grubs just under the surface today in my garden. they spend most of their lives way deeper in the ground, so they will be emerging around here (morris county) very soon.

Re: Lots of free bait coming.
Cool/cold spring has delayed them. Ground temperature is a big factor in emergence time. With 3-4 days near or at 90F this week, they will be out in force. Cicada killers can't wait...

Re: Lots of free bait coming.
Saw a bunch in Edison this morning near Oak Tree RD and Grove. Smaller than I remember when I was a kid.
