Il saw 2 of them that size cruising around the causeway yesterday with the jawtags glistening in the sun. Sadly I only had my bass gear with me. :(

The biggest trout I've seen caught were all hooked on bass lures. I saw one this year a big brown about 6 lbs. caught on a 4" gold Rebel. I saw a big rainbow caught last year also on a hula popper. Next time give it a shot, ya never know.

One of the best eating fish in NJ. The meat goes a nice pink after a while. Stuff with crab meat and bake at 375*

I gave it a shot with what I had. One of them had a lazy pass at a 5" senko which was when I noticed they showed up.

I've never had any luck with trout at RVR on anything but 4 LBS test and smaller lures (2" lures and 1/16 oz in-line spinners). I tried some 3" swimbaits on 8 LBS test and couldn't get them to even take a second look.

With the other anglers and the boat traffic in the area I basicaly brought a gun to a stick fight. lol..
