Hit the Raritan hard this week fishing Manville, the falls and queens bridge with a smattering of the canal and farington lake. The Raritan and the canal yielded a nice mix of large pickerel, smallies, crappie, perch, walleye and some foul hooked carp that seem to be everywhere. Most fish were taken on
3"twisters fished on a 1/8 jig except for the eye which hit jointed bomber.Farington lake produced a crapload of bass on senkos "texas rigged"

Kiss these bass good-bye - why do so many hold these fish this way? Look at the angle of their jaws - if you have to lift the fish to take a pic lift without bending their mouths at a 45 degree angle - lift them straight up without over-extending their mouths as shown in these pics. Or, hold their lower jaw and cradle their stomach - and hold horizontally - you've been watching too many bass-masters series.

Cry me a river, these fish were not that big,the smallie had a busted jaw already and was feeding fine.Big fish I'm careful with.
