Bait for Crappies and Largemouth Bass

I will probably going to spooky brook pond this weekend and when I went last weekend I mainly caught Sunnies but my friend with me was lucky to catch a small bass and a crappie. We were using worms. I want to catch these bass and crappies but Sunnies are taking the worms. I wanted to know any bait that would work. I probably going to bring live minnows to see if they work. (Just to get this out of the way, I personally do not like lures because I am still a novice fisherman but i will consider them)

I would recomend lures but if you're going to stick with bait just go bigger worms/minnows etc. Recycle the sunnys. That should catch a monster Bass
