Weekend trouting @ The D&R Canal
Fish are in there they just won't cooperate. Friday afternoon from 4 till 6, I managed two, one was a nice size rainbow from the downstream side of the Upper Ferry Rd. bridge, the other,a fat brookie, I jigged from the wall with a spinner fly. I didn't see anyone else catch anything although a few guys were there all day with all kinds of bait and they got the skunk. Saturday morning at the same spot I caught 4 brookies in about 15 minutes all on that spinner fly. One was pretty small maybe 7". Odd that no one was there on a Saturday morning at 8. Sunday I didn't go as the yard work was building up and I figured get it done so the wife can't complain about all the fishing I've been doing. They stock today, so it should be interesting to see if they will hit like they did on the last stocking.
