Pole repair question

Lost the plastic protecter from one of my eyes. Think its from pulling wire leader through by mistake. Is there anyway to repair this without replacing eye. If not, does anyone do repairs and would the cost be worth it. Its aboput a 100 dollar pole. Thanks

Re: Pole repair question

I originally thought that the whole guide would need to be replaced. That seems to be the conventional wisdom, but after hunting around a little I found this website. Seems some folks have replaced just the insert themselves successfully. Hope this helps: http://www.wmi.org/bassfish/bassboar...sage_id=313182

Heat it up a bit and it will pop right off. Glue a new one on with tip glue.

I had a local tackle shops replace guides for me in the past, should be around 10bucks. Trick is to find the shop that stocks/uses the best matching guide. Brought one rod with black guides and they replaced the broken one with a grey guide
