Hopatcong Ice / Open Water report with Pics
 

Today I was down by Lake Hopatcong on business so I figured I would make a photo report of the ice / open water. The lake is still about 2 1/2 feet down from normal. I wasn't as far down as Landing and the state park so no report for below Bertrand Island. Pics are from 11AM today and are as follows:

1st pic was taken at the Mt. Arlington Pier next to Barnes Brothers marina looking straight out into the main lake - still pretty ice'd over

2nd pic was taken at Lee's County Park marina facing out into Van Every Cove - still pretty ice'd over

3rd pic was taken from the State Police area looking out into Great Cove - still pretty ice'd over

4th pic was taken from Dows facing south into Great Cove - same basic area from the last pic

5th pic was taken from Alice's restaurant looking out and a bit to the south - some open water but more ice'd up that it looks in the pic

6th pic was taken again from Alice's looking out and to the north - finally some good open water above

7th pic was taken from Brady Bridge facing south - open water to where you could start to see it north of Alice's / Dows

8th pic was taken from Brady Bridge facing north - mainly open water with a bit of ice

9th pic was taken from Woodport between Oh Sullivans restaurant and Flash Marina - lots of ice with some open water out in the middle

Conclusion - we're on our way, especially with the warn temps coming this weekend and next week but if you need to get out - Brady Bridge is the spot right now.

Those Perch Should Be Bitting And Maybe Some Crappies.checked The Log Books Back 3 Years And This Is The Weekend That We Start Catching.good Luck
