BLOOMINGDALE, New Jersey (WABC) -- A morning of ice fishing ends with a dramatic rescue and two men in the hospital.
The incident took place on Lake Iosco in Bloomingdale, New Jersey a picturesque private freshwater lake.

Damn I used to sunny fish there as a kid. One of the men has just passed away. My prayers. Go out to them and their families. Stay safe out there everyone!

Do people have common sense anymore? Its a terrible loss of life and I do feel for his family but this sort stuff really infuriates me. People just do not think anymore. Ice is weak this time of year any angler should know this.

This is horrible. I took my ice fishing gear out of my truck monday morning after being on Hopatcong all day sunday. The ice is disappearing rapidly. Nobody deserves to fall threw the ice. Very unfortunate.

did you guys look at the video? those were some football perch that they had on the ice, no wonder they were pushing their luck

I don't get it. On a GOOD day we have our ice picks around our necks, whistle, always wore bright orange hats, always had at least 100 ft of rope.
Sketchy days we tied off to each other as we walked around. NEVER took any chances.

Sad, used to fish there with my friend in the 90's Bass up to 7# crappie up to 3#! Allways wanted to icefish the lake but never had the opp!

Horrible thing to happen. Let's hope this is the last in NJ in 2013...
