I tried the large one to remove the loose hooks from sharks.

I don't disagree, the intent is there, I just found the Arc to be real difficult to use. My intent was to use it to remove old hooks left in the sharks mouth, these had the lines cut short so you couldn't get leverage by holding line.
for smaller fish I use the rounded hook with "T" handle, I find this to be easiest and fastest. Not sure yet on have to better remove old hooks from sharks, other than carefully with pliers.

I love the ARC Dehooker..... I have three sizes and they all work great.

Once you get the hang of it, the ARC dehooker is great. I use my longer one to release dogs and skates while they are still in the water, no need to even bring them into the boat most times.

I know these were designed to release most fish unharmed. Maybe someone knows, how are they with gut hooked fluke?

Better then anything else I have ever used. Sometimes the damage is already done but at least with the ARC once you get the hook out it doesn't get hooked again on the way out of the gut as it sometimes does with the other de-hookers. once the hook is free it lays against the round part of the ARC and slides right out.
