Looking for lead...

In central nj area , has anyone been to a yard lately with a descent pick, if so what were they pricing it at too?
It's gonna be cold for a while, gotta keep the mind occupied...

Try Ameracycle . We had good luck with them . They offered clean and dirty lead . We even got good sinkers from them once in our load . I'll be at B&B by Cookstown tomorrow morning scrapping lite iron and I'll ask .

For the amount of little money Sam charges, it makes it almost not worth the work and effort to make your own unless you want something specific like bell sinkers with the swivel attached. Sam will trade you lead for sinkers..., just sayin.

Understood, but having all the equipment and time to burn, just looking for a new place, had a few hundred pounds from years past and am all out now, I got that from a plumber... And at the going rate it's about $0 .04 an ounce and therapy time is already included

If you are getting good clean lead for under .60 a pound, then you better buy a couple tons of it...

I asked at a couple scrap yards last year and they wanted a buck a pound. Call them up and ask what they are paying if you bring some in. 10-20 cents a pound. If you find a guy who does scrapping. Tell him you'll give him 40 cents. Everybody will be happy. I got about a ton and a half I stockpiled when it was cheap or free. Others invested in gold. I went with lead.
