Some places will have fishable ice by this weekend and a bunch of places will have safe ice by next weekend. I was on 6-8" less than 2 hours from jersey today. Caught the fattest pike I've seen, 35" and 15.5 pounds

I'm out on the ice now, I'll put up a post later. Got the 35 on one of those big smelt from Hong Kong Supermarket. Got around 15 pike in the last few days.
