Saturday Morning Yakin- Temps in the 50's!

If the weather man is right, he is predicting some mild temps this weekend. I'm looking to drop in @ a north jersey river/lake location Saturday morning. I have a few ideas in mind. I wouldn't mind some company just in case something gets dicey with the cold water temps. PM me if your up for a January Yakkin Fishin Mission for Saturday morning.

Dry suit and a pfd I hope. That some cold water if you take a dip.

dry suit is a good idea. otherwise, really be careful, water temperatures will still be 32-34° most places... if you end up in it loss of manual dexterity (i.e. ability to reboard your boat) after 2 minutes and exhaustion/unconsciousness in 15

My usual set up for flat water winter yak fishing is a pair Simms goretex waders w/belt and a semi dry top with climate appropriate under layers, and of course a tight PDF. It's not optimal but it's what I got. I also stow a dry bag with a synthetic insulated jacket and thick fleece pants, a big towel, and a flask of bourbon. My WS Ride is super stable making tipping difficult, but still possible, and re entry is a breeze. I've done numerous re-entries but have never practiced cold water re-entry. I'll rely on instinct IF i happen upon the misfortune.

It's looking like a Passaic launch tomorrow morning 9:30ish. I have a few "possibles" but no "definites". If anyone wants to meet up, PM me here.

sure it is safe. waders will not drag you under if you fall in the water, they just make it hard to stand up before you dump the water out.
