Passaic River 11-11-12
 

Took a few hours to try out some new fly-fishing equipment yesterday. River was a bit higher than before the last two storms, and was running a little faster, but water was still nice and clear. I fished the area below Dundee Dam, but didn't get a single hit. I figured there'd still be some smallies active. Tried nymphs, streamers, wooly-buggers, all to no avail. Saw one other guy come down to where I was and he was throwing a big stickbait, probably for stripers or pike, with the same results from what I could see.

Happened to notice a couple guys in a boat on the river just upstream from the pumphouse in Fairfield on Friday afternoon. They were between Routes 46 and 80. Might that have been anyone here???

Me and a buddy went out yesterday for a few hours above the dam but it was dead, not even a hit. Saw one fish surface but that was it. What sucked is that was prob our last trip out this year and the only time we got the skunk this year!
