Tips on storing sand worms

Last few weeks had like a dozen sand worms leftover. Whats the best way to try to keep them in good condition for the following weeks fishing trip ?

I always felt you hadda keep them cool. My spare refrig in garage died ten years ago. I never replaced it.

I used to hide them in the back of the kitchen refrigerator for a few days until my wife found them one time.
They're expensive, but now I just give away unused ones.
I've also been the beneficiary of same.

Tight lines,
Tom K.

Too cold and they fall apart. Have to keep them cool but not too cold. 48-50 degrees or so.

I've kept them for a few weeks with some damp newspaper on the bottom, not wet, with the seaweed stuff they give you on top in the frig at the temp Leif suggested.

We've left them with all the sea grass in a flow troll bucket alongside the boat in the marina and they seem to be fine too....

I thought this would be the case too but they seem to like to just hang out in the grass rather then try and escape.
