How far back do you troll those cranks and what depth do you think they run at. What is the advertised depth, ie is it a deep 10-12 ft, etc. I've trolled a 8-12 ft jointed shad rap a few times up that way...never any takes.

I use real small line counters that double as downrigger rods for trout. I usually pull them behind planer boards. Lately the berkely flickr shads have been hotter than shad raps. I like size 7 in each best. Ive had some luck w the jointed shadraps in clearer water in natural silvers and perch etc. but stained water bright works best, firetiger was one after the other. I go 80-100 behind the board gets down to 11-12 feet, same w shad raps. Rod tip height plays into it I have them horizontal on the gunnels so its 1-2 feet off the water. If they are straight up in your boat u wanna go 125 or maybe more
