Farrington 8/30
used small worms, jigs and a live lined sunny in hopes of a pike/pickerel/bass, and a good overall multispecies day. first cast nailed a 10" crappie, nothing for a while after. hooked a decent bass on the jig that spat the hook at the last second. bullheads werent as active as last time but i picked them off slowly thru the afternoon. got no action on the live sunny...but....
while jigging my trout magnet, felt a huge thump followed by heavy throbbing and then screaming drag so i assumed a big bass or pickerel. it swam near the surface but all i saw was its back, and i thought obviously a pickerel around 20", but after it gave a head shake near the surface i saw a pale white/greenish face and no black stripe down the eye...so yes, even pike will hit those tm's if they are around :p. it gave one more run and cut through my 4lb line like nothing. and this is the second one i lost at the same location :( total fish count was 8 bullheads, 4 crappies, a perch and 5 sunnies. not too bad, hoping to get revenge on mr. pike next time . |

Great place to fish from a kayak. You can park and literally throw your yak in the water.

When ever I go under the bridge, the depth finder is always lite up with fish readings. The large body of pads on one side of the bridge I usually hit either on the way out or on the way in and has been productive for LMB and pickerel |
