Killer Kingfish Rigs!

4 Attachment(s)
Made few killer Kingfish Rigs. They are an awesome rig that has really has made a difference compared any rig I bought from the store.

Rig is very simple....

1. About 3 ft of 15 lb mono leader.

2. # 6 size Gami circle hooks.

3. Small chartruse floats.

4. 90 lb or 75 lb barrel swivel.

5. Medium size duolock snap for the sinker.

6. Two 4 inch dropper or kiwi loops for the hooks and floats.

Just bait up with Bloods, Fishbites, or Gulp and your set!

Guaranteed to catch you Kings!

One word of advice is, if the the loops are hard to get through the eyes of the small circle hooks, make some small snells and attach them to smaller loops. Worked for me!

Going to hit the Deal Surf on this Saturday afternoon for Kings. They are up here in Monmouth County pretty thick now and are a fun fish to catch. They were the first fish I ever caught in the surf, and I always enjoyed fishing for them!

Time to catch some Kings!

Those floats and right size hooks are killer. The difference a gloat can make...... nice post! Gotta love a gisherman who shares his success and does not think he owns the fish, and keeps it a secret.

Class act. ;)

Any knowledge of whether or not they're catching them off the surf in LBI? I'm going to be down there the 11th-18th and would love to hook into a few for BBQ!

Snapperhead is the King of Kings.....He knows where they are and when they are there before anyone....

One time a certain owner of a bait and tackle store "claimed and insisted" there were no Kings to be had..

He said, "If your fishing for kingfish, there just ain't none. You'll be wasting your money and your fishing time son....."

Well Snapperhead went anyway and caught a bunch of kingfish the very next day....

Nice job Ben if you have to make choker leaders, you can still use the Kiwi for the loop tie them small. Keep up the good reports.
