Another wild pike day

Well I went back to the scene of the crime this afternoon and it started out the same way. 3 big strikes without a hookup, and then I am hooked to a good one. Today I brought a net with me and now I know why I never use one. I landed one close to 40 inches and trying to get it out of the net was a nightmare. Of course when I got it out and hit the self timer on the camera, it jumped out. (I will spare that picture of me struggling with a fish in my lap).

After that it was crazy action for the next 90 minutes with 8 hooked and 6 landed and a few follows. The first picture is the smallest of the afternoon and again, you can see me holding the spinner bait as the fish was heading back to the water.

Here is a great action shot of another one and the third picture is of one of the others.

I will be heading to Myrtle Beach tomorrow for 8 days, so the pike are safe for awhile.

Nice! You have to get a boga grip and a tape measure. Just make sure the boga is tethered to your yak or attach a float to it so you don't lose it. If you get one and tether it to your yak you can put the pike back in the water, set the camera up and pick the pike up before the camera goes off much easier.

I have tried the boga grip along with other grippers. There was just too much damage done to the pikes jaw when they start going crazy. I would rather not have a picture if it means harming the fish.

Thanks!

Nice action with the pike, great pictures. They have to be glad you'll be gone for a while.
