Rainy Day Bass 6/13/12
 

Was staring out the window at work, bummed out about the soggy weather. Then it hit me: my best bass fishing day ever was about this time of year with nearly identical weather conditions. So, after work, I threw on some rain gear and headed for a local pond. I started with a black buzzbait and caught six working around the pond, plus raised a few more, including a really vicious splash that totally caught me sleeping. Then, I switched to a craw and worked the pond again, and caught five more. I fished for a little over 2.5 hours.

Fish ranged from dinks up to about 2 lbs. Most of the bigger fish came on the craw. In fact, the two biggest fish of the day came on consecutive casts to the same spot. The larger fish were relating to weed edges in deeper water. Frogs and turtles were out in full force.

I usually always try to fish on those kind of days as well. I usually do pretty well and don't have to compete with everyone else. Most of the time i will see only one or two other people out. And i did fish yesterday and skunked, was on fire last few weeks then been struggling last couple times out but thats what keeps me going cause you never know whats coming on that next cast!!! LOL
