2 day South Branch float- 6/16,17-need help:

If I get approval from the boss I was thinking of floating the South Branch of the Raritan 2 days in a row. I have to check clarity and water levels as the time gets closer. I got my 17ft. flat bottom canoe. This has been on my to-do list for a while, but it makes my skin prune up just thinking of sitting in wet shorts and sneakers for 10 hours a day for 2 days in a row.

I have floated from Neshanic, 3 bridges to where the N & S meet, 8 hours.

Day 1: I wonder if I put in at the Arches and portal Clinton falls (no big deal in sneakers and shorts) if I could make it to Darts Mill in 10 hours?
Fishing and floating

Day 2 ; Darts Mill to Neshanic, 3 Bridges, 10 hours ? Fishing and floating.

It's hard to judge on Google Earth. Was hoping to catch the last of the trout before the real heat sets in and getting into the smallmouth bite.

Thanks in advance.

No problem at all........just have to make sure you keep moving and not fish one spot for too long......Keep an eye on the time and stick to your plan. Your only talking 30 miles or less of river........(Right?....Just a guess)

Day 1 would be a tough one ....Thats a loong float and an
area that you will want to fish thoroughly...I would shorten the distance on day one and lengthen it on day two...Just my $.02 as i have floated almost every section of the river, top to bottom:D

I was sorta thinking the same thing about day one, the top is VERY fishy.

Thanx, then I gotta think about what lures to throw also.

I fished last week by the old YMCA campsite downstream from the portal. Really good fishing with lots of fish still in the water. Good Luck!!
