Raritan river stripers

Floated the river yesterday, from about 1-7 pm, Queens Bridge down to Johnson's Park. Slow fishing for me and my buddy, caught one 12" striper near Easton ave lock, another 30" at rt 18 bridge, two small mouths, 8 and 15". all on lures,
Not many fish but a great day on a nice river.

That's a nice float. I never went beyond the 2nd 287 croosing but I need to get down there. I think there are plenty of fish, just gotta keep trying. What did you get the big 30" striper on ? Musta been a good fight !!

Too answer both of your questions,
Tide was high at 2 we put in at Queens bridge at 1, which is not tidle, by time we got down to lower tidle section, was a few hours into the outgoing,
Larger striper, caught by rt 18 bridge about 4 hours into outgoing, water moving pretty good, with recent rain and falling tide. It was caught on a 4" creek cheb sinking popper, silver, 7 ft rod, about 15lb test mono. all other fish on 6 lb test trout rod, small crock spoon, silver. Tride swimmers, twisty tales, other poppers, all with no luck,
