Passaic River 4/18
Spent the better part of the morning checking out "state recommended" stocked locations in the pompton lakes/wanaque area. Found some nice holes but no love. Decided to hit a couple Passaic river spots on my way back.
In the first spot I picked up a few dink smallies and a "trout size" pike. Next spot yielded a decent channel cat and a river tarpon that unfortunately broke off before I had the chance to take his picture. All in all a good, skunk free day. http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/...G/IMAG0751.jpg http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/...IMAG0759-1.jpg |

thats cool man you always gotta appreciate scoring a pike on a lure no matter what size. Two years ago my buddy actually saw the stocking truck ride by and stock hundreds of 6" inch pike fingerlings in the river.

Always fishin' in those muddy Passaic River banks, your floor mats must look great! I tend to stick to the rocky banks on the river unless Im in the 'yak.
Nice Pike though, not as small as the one I landed a few years ago up in Lincoln Park! http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2..._6791480_n.jpg |

Besides, you can't pass up a productive spot cause of a little mud. That would be "unmanly". :-) |
