I do not eat any fish, but...the same fish running up the river will be the same fish in the bay and ocean in a few weeks and people eat them...

Most of the larger stripers in the Passaic and the other rivers are in there right now feeding on the herring that are making their spawning run. I don't know if the stripers in the Passaic will spawn in that river. But for the most part a lot of the stripers that end up in Raritan Bay in June are dropping out after spawning in the rivers. If you are eating the ones in Raritan Bay then whats the difference. That is one of the reasons I get alittle freaked out when I keep one from Raritan Bay because you just don't know where it has been.
