It may be just me but I dont care for catching trout!

Anyone else feel this way? I dont feel there is any challenge in catching trout, its rather pretty easy, especially catching stocked ones.

Come with me and do a float trip on the West branch of the big D, or hit up the Beaverkill in NY or Penns Creek in PA.

If you don't like Jersey trout try NY or PA trout.

In my house I have an 18 lb trout and an 11 lb. trout on the wall, don't like trout ? Get a boat and go after 10 lb. plus trout, the sun doesn't rise and set on the local trout stream.

Got a monster rainbow at the falls in Duke Island Park on opening day, shot out of the water like a missile, didn't think I was gonna land him on 4lb. test !!

"It may be just me but I don't care for catching trout!"

If this is your first year of Trout fishing I can see why you think it's boring.
The low water and summer like weather this year makes it too easy.
It's not always that way. Last year's opening day and subsequent season SUCKED catching wise.
What rivers or lakes are you fishing? Some of the mud holes the state stocks are mainly for the urban - kid fishing crowd.
Try fishing in the better known streams with closed stock days where you may see more of nature and catch some fish.

Wild Trout fishing is much more challenging and the fish fight so much harder that you'll never fish for stocked again with the same fervor.
That said, catching some big hold over Trout is lots of fun. Try in the fall for those.

And you may be right, Trout fishing is not for you.
Too each his own;):)

I wasnt trying to offend anyone by my original statement. I can honestly say that i have never tried fishing for wild trout and that may be very well the case as why I dont like trout fishing especially stockies. I actually like a challenge, I like having to make an effort to search out and figure out catching fish. I find that I get bored very quickly fishing the same water holes that I consistantly have success in. but thats just me..:D

You can't offend me, and I did not think there was anything offensive in your post. Just stating my view.:)

I half agree with you. However I trout fish in the more remote areas that do not get many people or streams where there are native fish. I've also switched back to more fly fishing that adds a little more challenge as I'm a little green at it. But when I sense I'm turning into one of those a-hole all knowing fly fisherman I'll switch back to spinning :p .

Head up to NY buddy boy, catch some 5, 10 even 20 lb rainbows, steelhead and browns. I guarantee you'll feel much better about trout fishing!!!
