Nice article. These lures may be a great choice for cold water, but they catch bass all year.

i LOVE rats, use them almost exclusively...did 24 weeks in a row
(sat/sun trips) and only got skunked once (day before irene hit)

The "rat' is an awesome lure. When things are tough I go to old tried and true... a white Rooster Tail, another lure of LMB that keeps on giving time after time after time......

In-line spinners are one of the most underrated tactics for bass. If I'm visiting a bass lake for the first time, the first thing I normally tie on is a #2 silver Mepps spinner.

wasnt planning on hitting the lake today but woke up and decided to go out, ended up landing 2 NICE chunks on rats...was shocked i got anything considering the temp (was 38 when i got up there and no idea what the water was). was a bunch of fish breaching the surface as well which was VERY odd for this time of year
