Stopped by Saxon Falls this AM. the water is very high and fast. Wonder if the stocking is going to be delayed for Oct 12th?

I doubt it.. unless we get a huge rain dump that cause widespread flooding..

Seen the big fish that were stocked in the fall, bottom line, lock jaw for 4 to 6 weeks, then they feed. Unlike the small fish in the spring, these fish have body mass that seems to hold them over, after the leaves (and all the fishermen) are gone have it. Not just blowing smoke to try to save some fish for myself, I had the best fall trout fishing in November.

If the water temp is a few degrees either way of 50, they will bite pretty quickly. If it is still around 60, they will get some lockjaw from the temp disparity between the streams and the hatchery.

November after checking my last several year records, late Oct depending on leaf fall thru early Dec or until water hits lower forties solid troutin' !
It's hard to decide whether to blackfish or trout fish during this time frame they're both so dam good!!
Since I ahven't been out since last June with all this high water there may be some bonuses in the form of nice holdovers to add to this pot, never know!!
