Merrill Creek Res., good day, 9/20:

5 Attachment(s)
Got 8 dozen herring and went to Merrill Creek res. Double anchored in about 70 ft. of water and live lined from 8am to 1:30pm. Had a good shot of fish around 9am, and around noon all hell broke loose. Ended up with 4 lakers to 5lbs and 5 smallmouth, all chunky around 20". The smallmouth fought great ! Reeling in a laker is like reeling in a wet beach towel. No love from the rainbows or browns. I was chumming livies and had huge fish boiling all around the boat. Also got a very big brown bullhead, close to 2lbs.
Water was pretty clear and never saw another boat on the lake all day. Didn't get many photos due to the rain, most of the time I was shrouded in dense fog.

Those are some nice fish Andy. A 20" smallie is a thing of beauty.

Visibility dropped to just a couple a hundred yards, 3 pics looking around, kinda like floating in the clouds, the silence is unreal up there.

Even the SM looks weird though?

Either you have a 1 megapixel camera or there is something wrong with it...:D

Lakers go to my buddy at work, stockies and RV rainbows go in the smoker, all bass go back. The Smithsonian called me, they are interested in my camera, one of the original digital cameras.

WOWWWW, I have yet to catch a 20" smallie and you get 5 in one day. The one in the picture is a SLOB. I gotta get back up there this fall, I need some big bass. Looks like perfect weather to be on that lake.
