Delaware Raritan Feeder Canal

Bad news for anybody who fishes the Canal from Lambertville south to Trenton. A new spillway that was under construction collapsed during Hurricane Irene and allowed most of the canal water to flow out into the Delaware River. Right now the canal is just a trickle in most places, with some muddy puddles in others. No very pretty.

I will try to take some pics tomorrow and post them here.

PS The rush of water out of the canal also washed out part of Route 29 south of Lambertville, closing the road since last Sunday.

The spillway is on the feeder canal which runs along the Delaware River. The spillway is about a mile south of Lambertville.
