Pompton Lake 8/4
 

Threw the 'yak in the water around 630pm. I wasn't expecting a huge night due to the storms yesterday and I was right. Tossed a 4" pink/shad Senko with no luck until about 7:45. Switched to a watermelon flake 4" Senko and within 1 cast was rewarded with my best freshwater fight yet...

Got towed around for a few minutes until I finally got the fish next to my kayak. As I went to grip it with my boga-grip, he made a dash for deeper water, completely soaking me in the process (pretty cool). Finally landed this guy after about 5 minutes. Measured 19", my personal best Largemouth of the season. Did not get a weight on him. Snapped a few photos and released him to fight another day.

Only managed 1 fish in the 2 1/2 hours I fished, but boy was he a slob.
