July Surprise!
1 Attachment(s)
So there I am, in Monmouth County on a creek that is 2 feet below spring levels, sweating like a pig, throwing a bass lure hoping for a pickerel or something, and this happens!

Re: July Surprise!
I talked to guy bass fishing on Farrington Lake a couple weeks ago. The water temp was close to 80, and he said he caught a 12" rainbow on 4" senko:eek: .
This was back in the shallower part of the lake. Go figure, I can't get a bass (yet) on a senko! |
Re: July Surprise!
Lard is famous for catching Pickerel on Trout baits and Trout on Bass baits.
12'' Brookie no less. I'm bagging RVR and heading to Monmouth Co. |

I'd rather be lucky than good. |
Re: July Surprise!
Trout under around 14" can survive under a waterfall, just enough shade to keep the water a little cooler and plenty of oxygen. However come the end of Sept, they are pretty skinny and rough looking after their summer ordeal.

Man I have caught them all casting for LMB, catfish, bluegill, pickerel, pike, even carp believe it or not, but not a trout on what looks like a jerk bait. COOL Catch:cool:  |
