Monster Carp Spawning
 

Overpeck was full of these beasts today spawning in the shallows near shore. HUGE ones! I didn't see a Carp under 10 lbs today. I really had no idea that they thrash about on the surface like I witnessed. If only I had my bow! lol

Seriously, if you are into Carp fishing, Overpeck Creek is the place to go. I have no desire to catch them but what I witnessed today I have never seen before in my life :) Good day :)

I've been fishing Carp for over 40 years which my dad taught me at the age of 5....the fight of your life....pound for pound, good to catch for the thrill....We fished Croton resv. in New York State..I've been catching them in Oradell resv and they are huge....I was not aware that they are in the park...gonna give them a try when I get bored...I make a hell of a carp bait at home....thanks for the info, Robbie

I know of 20 other places where the same thing happens. If you want to see the really big ones, check out Spruce Run in a week or two. They're 30lbs and scare you when they breach.

Super, the ones I saw today were scaring the hell outta me...lol. I was standing at a dock and they were smashing into the dock! They were monstrous. There were some small ones but mostly big ones.

I just couldn't tell if they were common carp or grass carp.

Riding my bike home to tell my Dad I lost my rod.......AGAIN........then heading to Valley Fair to get a cheap replacement!!!

Duffman, you weren't kidding about big carp in there lol. Is bowfishing legal for Carp?

the carp in the passaic will spawn in 2 wks to all of the big carp were the females male r smaller
