Re: Overpeck- Ridgefield Park
Man is that a place from the past. 50 years ago I would trap killies for my dad
and I to go fluke fishing. I lived on Chestnut St in Ridgefield Park. Every Nov. we would bunny hunt over the railroad bridge on the other side from Bergen Tpk. |
Re: Overpeck- Ridgefield Park
devildogski, there's white perch, shad, brown bullheads, channel cats, and some people claim to have caught LMB in there as well.
The town of ridgefield park re-did the entire park on Challenger Rd. and it's truly an oasis here in bergen county. I'll be there tomorrow (wed. 5/11) around noon. I'll be there with a friend of mine :) |
Re: Overpeck- Ridgefield Park
If you a lucky, you might be able to hook striped bass, largemouth bass too. It is not a good idea to eat what you catch, throw them back....it is only about 4 ft deep...friends of mine fish from jon boats and have hooked those species....I live near there too but have never caught anything to write home about...good luck...great place to go...never under pressure..Robbie

Re: Overpeck- Ridgefield Park
Definitely would never eat anything out of there. I was there today but no luck at all. VERY windy and casting was a pain.
I hope to have better luck tomorrow :) |
Re: Overpeck- Ridgefield Park
No luck at all today at Overpeck. Again very windy and colder than it was yesterday. Tomorrow is supposed to be 72 degrees so we'll see what tomorrow has in store :)
I think the Shad have spawned and gone out to sea already. |
