whew finally some fish!
 

after a very rough spring for me in both the fresh and salt i hit my pond today and caught some fish. 7 largemouths from super dink to maybe 2 lbs, 1 crappie (first in 8 years) ad a sh!t ton of bluegills. saw loads of golden boys hoovering as well time to breakout the corn. felt so nice to go through 40 crawlers in 2 hours.

Nice job Jmurr. Been a tough spring for me too. I haven't given carping a try yet this year. I think it's defintely time to do so.

felt so nice to have the ultralight bending! tried lures but not even a sniff toss out a nightie in the same spot bam fish right away these fish are very wary of people as this lake gets a ton of pressure and nothing seems to work better then the real thing.caught some hand sized philly piranhas as well ya know a bluegill is big when it takes a size 1 j-hook!

also if i may add after it rains BE CAREFUL WALKING! I was walking down a steep slope to one of my favorite spots and saw 2 large bodies in the water i stopped paying attention to what i was doing to see what they were and slipped on some mud and went down hard on my back got up to see 2 carp laughing at me as i wiped mud off myself! AJ them carp are eating go get em

I can empathize with you on this as the inside of my waders finally dried out from my fall the other week.

I don't think the fish stopped to laugh at me though, they were too busy dodging tree trunks and branches being washed down the North Branch!

Nice catch. I slipped down a 8' bank last year. I got real wet and put a hole in my waders. Thank God the company sent me a new pair for free. I started using a walking stick and what a difference. No more trying to walk while doing the nevous balancing act. Wastes a lot of fishing time too.
