5/1/11 - South Branch

Started the morning at Capoolong Creek. Had never fished it-nice little creek:)
Got a small Brookie on the first toss of a spinner. Enjoyed the Capoolong wanted some bigger water. Headed in to High Bridge and fished the South Branch from the "tunnel" down to past the ballfields. Between 2 of us we got 15 fish, ranging from 9-18 inches, most in the 12-15" range, with the big one weighing just over 2.5. All Rainbows. the water was High/fast but pretty clear...I caught fish on everything i threw out there- worms, mealies, yellow power bait, purple powerbait, spinners and rapalas.

Great way to spend a sunday morning with an old friend.

oh yeah.. all but one swam again. My Buddy released the big one, it took a while but she did swim off- then about 50 yards downstream we saw her really struggling in a calm pool. so she went back on the stringer.

I know that little stretch well from the tunnel downstream, keep going it's good for a while, then run in and get an ice cream ...;)
Good day of catching !
