Few weeks ago they were in long branch in ridiculous numbers , and by far the biggest smooth dogs I have ever seen

The last 5 years or more the bay has been infested with them. I don't even fish the bay for fluke anymore because of them. I bet they are moving south now from the bay and you guys are catching them sobs in the ocean!

i've been in Spain since the end of September. They are served here as 'corzon' and they are quite tasty. Coated lightly and deep fried. You never know as you might enjoy them once in a while.

americans for some reason don't know how to clean or handle them.. They love them in Europe, and they are good eating there, from all indications.. Here in the states, whenever any tries to clean and eat one, even after bleeding them, gutting them, icing them, whatever, they smell and taste like ammonia mixed with piss, by the time you try and cook them.. No first hand experience, just mostly anecdotal, but I believe it... bob

Did some togging today and if you didn’t keep yourself on the bottom you got dogged up. We had a boat fishing close to us and they had 3 or 4 on at a time .

You have to soak the skinless fillet in some form of citric acid to leach out the ammonia Haven't eaten one in quite a while. Smoothies eat better. Ate them in California and here in jersey. Not high on my food list.

I’ve tried em a few times. Never good. Caught fresh, killed and gutted, then iced down. Marinated it, Baked it, fried it. Sucked.

I love seafood and eat it all but when you have to work at it to make it taste edible it ain’t good.

A sharp knife through the back of the head between the eyes and back they go. Crabs love them.
