6/14/25: Raritan river - Air 63* cloudy, light East wind intermittent rain. Water 70* @ 350CFS very clear. Hit the South Bound Brook/Bound Brook area at Queens Bridge. One of the first things I saw walking to the river (aside from some trash) was an Osprey trying to get to the fish before me ! First cast got a nice SMB, then caught 5 more in the next hour, some were as small as 6 inches but that is a good sign. Walked up on the "Bound Brook Flats" but found no love, most fish came from the lower section in the cuts and seams.
Rain started in earnest so I decided to take a drive and visit some areas I haven't seen in a while. I drove up to Pottersville along the Lamington then up to the Black river below Hacklebarney. Came back down along the North branch. I would love to float the Lamington from Pottersville to the confluence with the North branch. I have floated the North branch one hundred times if not more. There was a heavy stain on the Black river/Lamington, almost looked like cedar water. Saw the old fishing club on the Black river.
