Fort Myers Florida Tarpon and Grouper Report
 

Just got back from fishing for 4 nights down in the Fort Myers area. We usually do this trip once a year around this time since it’s prime tarpon time along their migration path and usually do some charters but this time we went on our own.

Fished exclusively at night on the outgoing tides since the fish are most active on outgoing and it’s Africa hot down there this time of year during the day.

Day 1 we landed 2 Tarpon
Day 2 we landed 2 Tarpon and a Goliath Grouper
Day 3 we busted off 2 Tarpon and landed another Grouper
Day 4 we landed one huge angry Tarpon that went through the 3 of us fighting him 2 times each and had a another run off that completely spooled us and landed one Gag Grouper

Most fish caught on live Lady Fish and a few on Crabs.
