North Branch Raritan River 9/15/24

So after spending a few hours talking to the NJF Raritian River Rat Pack at the Multi Species Contest BBQ yesterday I couldn't help but get out on the river for a little wade fishing today. Started out with a Ned Rig with a PBJ 3 inch bass pro split tail stiko. After an hour of nothing but a few blue gill taps I concluded that obviously they didn't share any of their mojo yesterday.

Switched to a 4" Green Pumpkin Stiko weightless on a 2/0 worm hook. First cast land a RR rat smallie...and over the next hour caught another 7 with the biggest being about 15". No monsters but a great hour of some decent fish. Decided to end it on a good note and left them biting. So looks like those guys shared a little of that mojo after all. Appreciated boys.

I got a keeper fluke today :D looks like we all had some good luck and grace coming from the pig roast lol

Way to go with a nice outing with how low the water is!

With how low the water is, that's not a bad day. River smallies are THE BEST!

This year I thought with all the early rain we had before summer the waters would be high all summer. Who knew we would be be getting 93-98 degree days in record numbers?
