Re: To the rescue!!
Wow some great shots there and it certainly tells the story of what's happening there. Glad they got a dredge in there but think I heard somewhere it headed back to Shark River after a day or 2 of work??

Re: To the rescue!!
Where's Frank Pallone?
This effects commerce, the Party & Charter boats that have to traverse that inlet not to mention the Coast guard that is stationed there. What if there is a bad situation where they can't get out!!! It never should have gotten to this point, total failure on so many involved!! I call bullshit to it all. Capt. Ron |
Re: To the rescue!!
Capt Ron
Rep Chris Smith requested the emergency dredging asap (4th District) Agreed - how about not having it so bad in the first place. Someone is going to get killed. I can't even imagine how bad @ night. https://chrissmith.house.gov/news/do...umentID=413303 Joe T. |
Re: To the rescue!!
If that inlet is a menace to navigate for experienced charter and party boat captains, imagine the risk it poses to very much less experienced recreational boaters and their families. It absolutely never should have gotten that bad and they need to determine the cause and correct it before other lives are lost. Loss of commerce is bad enough for businesses, loss of life is incomprehensible and inexcusable they let this happen after just dealing with it a few years ago.

I called his office Sunday afternoon 8/4, and within one hour his staff responded, and was in contact with the ACOE. We were lucky that the dredge Murden was in our area and they were able to alter the schedule to take care of Manasquan inlet. We are also lucky to have a Representative as responsive as Chris Smith and his staff who have always gone to bat for us when called. |
