captain mark schmidt, been around a good long while, located north of key west big pine, away from all the alledged captains.......was trained by captain gary maconi who has passed but he was one of the all time greats in key west during 80-90 etc. he is not a tourist captain a serious fisherman and you won't get ripped off, he is very good..........have a great time........

please let us know how you do, I've always wanted to do an early winter fishing trip down there, but had no idea how it would work out.

Re: Key West charter advise?

Just returned from KW and had nice half day trip with Capt Brandon Lucky B charters who guided us to a yellowtail limit within couple hours and then tried for some mutton snappers on a wreck. He had live pinfish which were getting quick action with snappers and amberjacks but were all lost to sharks, which are major predators eating your fish. If it’s not the seals in So California it’s the sharks in Fla.
lucky B is beautiful boat and Capt Brandon loves to fish so he is great choice. He is located Summerland Key

Sounds like he was prepared and made the best of your half day.
