No rust on these musky anglers!

Mr. Musky, Mark Madoski (catfishonthelake) is back in NJ and wanted to go fishing. He wanted to target musky, obviously. Joe Santiago blasted us and told us we were wasting our time and would eat a skunk. Mark, in Babe Ruth fashion, garunteed 1 musky! And added on possibly 3! so I absorbed his confidence and met him with The Essential and we went right to work.

About 20 minutes In, I make a lure change and not more than 10 casts later bend my rod in half on some weight. Pretty sure I yelled "screw joe" as we laughed and netted this gorgeous fish!

We had to cut the lure to get the fish out of the net, took a quick pic and I held it in the water for a bit before we were gonna get a measurement but it tail slapped me and just took off. So, great release but no measurement.

We texted Joe the pic and then blocked his number and went back to fishing. Mark had 7 missed calls from him. After a few hours of more fishing the day was coming to an end and Mark was totally satisfied with this first trip back in NJ and we decided to call it a successful day...

...but as he was putting his rod down, he stands back up and says "well, one last cast", whips his lure out and BAM! Hooks a true last cast fish, and a musky! The first time I've seen a true last cast fish and actually left after a successful last cast 😂

The first of many more and a memorable return trip to NJ for Mark!

Great report, beautiful musky? Never let someone else convince you when to go or not go. I've made too many bad choices not following that advice. Awesome job guys!
