GAMBLER 1/2 Day Fluke and an unlikely doormat

Gambler's fluke trips have been mostly decent. Yesterday morning's trip was a little disapointing. It seemed like the fish finally wanted to start biting within the last 30 minutes of the trip.

We did catch a really thick, 10.5 lb fluke this weekend. It was caught by a gentleman that had been celebrating with his bachler party for 20-some hours straight, :psuffering from mal-de-mer, using a rental rod. Anthony was helping him bait up and encouraging him to stay at the rail. When he hooked-up, at first he thought it was stuck in the bottom, but Anthony coached him as the lit-up flatty appeared. Chris Sos did a neat job of netting the door-mat.

Our night trip on Friday night was slow but Saturday night was good with a mix of ling, sea bass, big bluefish and a few mackerel. Just no telling what will be caught on those night trips on the rocky bottoms.
