Rain in the forecast

Good afternoon

With rain in the forecast for the next 8 days does anyone recommend fishing at all?

If so any recommendations for bait for bass.

I read some articles that topwater is good for june

Yes, I find fishing in the rain is almost always better, typically you will have whatever pond/lake to yourself which already makes it better. Bait is obviously a matter of choice and what you have previously had success with. I like top water stuff and spinners of any kind when it is raining, but I’m sure everyone has their personal lure/bait of choice. If fishing from banks just be a bit extra cautious because rain will definitely make your footing very slick. 8 days of forecasted rain shouldn’t close you out, just pick your spots. Enjoy

Where do you live. What lakes/pond/rivers are u near. NJ fishing is very diverse with tons of good spots and different types of fish. Lots of fishing pressure though.

I am in rockland county NY. I'm not far from Bergen county NJ and Passaic County NJ. I would be any lakes river etc in those counties.

Chance of rain/incoming t-storms is the best time to fish

As long as it's not a down pour with thunder and lightning fishing in LITE rain can be great . I've positively had some of my best fishing on cloudy rainy days . You'll never catch anything sitting on the couch . lol.

With largemouth bass fishing, weeds and lily pads are a major concern. Therefore I fish with a Zoom lizard rigged "weedless" with a bullet weight in front. I only use non-plastics like Rapalas and spinnerbaits in water that is relatively clear of vegetation.
