FINALLY got out !! I swear every day I have off it's either too hot, too cold, windy, raining etc ! Met up with Uncle Ken at Duke Island Park, fished the stretch below the shale flats for a while waiting for Ken to arrive, nothing. When he got there we took a walk up to the falls, I like to fish the stretch below the falls. My first hookup was a nice buttery Brown Trout ! Took a pic and released him, Ken connected with a few stocked trout by the falls. After that spot we moved down river below the old Robert St dam, again Ken connected with a few stocked trout and got got a nice SMB, and I got a really nice rainbow trout (all released)
We moved down to Orlando Park in Raritan borough where again a few SMB and stocked trout. Last stop Manville where we got a few more SMB and Ken got a stocked trout. All in all nice day out, water was gin clear. |

Then I find a recent post on social media about a brown trout caught not far from the Raritan river.
