Mercer lake
 

So im new to this area and thought I would try fishing mercer lake. Any suggestions on where to fish from shore? So many areas don't know where to even start. Looking for some crappie and bass. Any tips are greatly appreciated.

I fish it from a boat, for me it is very hit or miss. I will have a very good outing targeting bass n crappie, but I will have 5 or 6 outings getting nothing. Its a nice clean lake with ample access and for sure has some nice fish. I fish will a guy that claims he has caught multiple plus 5 lbers from the banks. I have not seen them on my line, but pretty sure my not catching as many as I would like is my fault because I am probably not fishing that lake correctly. Give it a try, you will catch something. There is a nice stretch directly across from the boat ramp and next to the rowing boat house.

The State also stocks pure strain muskies in there.

NJ State Record white crappie was caught in Mercer Lake.

I once flew over this lake while it was being built. There's a nice trench under the power lines. A local fishing club once dumped Christmas trees closer to the dam to attract crappies. These trees probably have rotten but their debris probably attract fish. Good luck
