Went ultralight jigging in a 40 degree NJ lake this evening on a sunny, cool day with a small craft advisory northwest wind. Air temp was 50 degrees. I didn’t wear gloves. 1 Maryland and 3 NY license plates were on cars in the parking lot. More than 20 fishermen were there. An intruder was in my spot. After I started fishing to her right and caught 8 fish, she moved to another spot. I was then able to fish in the same spot in 11 trips this year. Caught and released 22 yellow perch, 7 white perch and a brown bullhead with Walmart red worm 🪱 halves on 2 gold hooks and an unpainted 1/16 oz leadhead jig on 4 lb test line. Only caught one double. Landed 405 fish in 11 trips from the same spot this year. Still have worms 🪱 left from my second container. Looks like the white perch run is ending.
