Winter Surf
 

Had to run an errand in Ocean County today so I did some early morning and evening surf fishing. At first light there was alot of birds working in close. I cycled through my bag trying some sand eel and peanut profiles without a touch. Went back to the same area for the evening and the schoolies were blitzing. Caught alot of 18 to about 24 inch Bass that completely shutdown when it got dark. The weather and conditions were really nice. The surf fishing was great this year with alot of bait and some quality size Bass.

I cannot tell you how great it is to hear that they are still running this late in parts of the East Coast. They left Maine waters in October this year, and all my offshore boats have closed early (one is reopening in January, so hopefully haddock will be on the menu).

At any rate, as a fat old Mainer, thanks for the reports. They certainly help pass the time.
