Done and lets all get on this.... Here is a direct link to read the document and comment https://www.regulations.gov/document...2022-0053-0001

In brief the RFA's position on this is to only support the designation of a Marine Sanctuary if there is language in the final proposal which makes an allowance for recreational fishing in perpetuity.

If you're in agreement your response could go something like this.

"As a recreational fishermen I fully support the preservation of this area but would only support the Marine Sanctuary designation if there was language in the final proposal that makes an allowance for recreational fishing access in perpetuity"

Other groups feel that even if that wording is put in now it is too easily changed .
Best to not support the change at all . Keep it as it is .

GZ- can we stick this one up top too? More comments are needed.

Jenkinson's Aquarium staff have been at the meetings pushing for sanctuary status. I wish they know how many sailed with us and then visited their business or vice a versa.

Done. This will be a real disaster for the recreational fishing industry if we do not have full access to the Canyon. Think of the amount of bait, fuel, and tackle used out there every year.

This is what I sent: My son wrote his college bio for Stony Brook U. based on catching his first tuna at the Hudson canyon. Conservation can be accomplished without closing this area to recreational fishing.
